Every outboard motor we sell ships free via insured freight to the lower 48 states. Your motor is crated, padded and strapped at the warehouse, fully insured in transit, and tracked the whole way to you.
How freight delivery works
Order placed
We confirm your motor, shaft length and controls, then schedule pickup with the freight carrier.
Crated & insured
Your motor is secured in a heavy-duty crate, fully insured against shipping damage.
In transit & tracked
You get a tracking number and the carrier's contact. Most in-stock motors ship within 1–3 business days.
Delivery appointment
For residential delivery the carrier calls ahead to schedule a window and bring a liftgate.
Inspect & sign
Inspect the crate on arrival. Note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing — we handle the rest.
Delivery options
Business / Terminal
Fastest and lowest-cost — pick up at a freight terminal or ship to a business with a dock.
Residential + Liftgate
We add liftgate service and a call-ahead appointment for home delivery at no extra charge on motors.
Fully Insured
Every shipment is insured. In the rare case of freight damage, we make it right fast.
Delivery timing
In-stock motors typically deliver in 3–7 business days depending on your location. Larger offshore motors and special configurations may take longer — we'll always give you an honest estimate before you buy.
What to do on delivery
Always inspect the crate before signing. If you see crushed corners, punctures or a shifted motor, note it on the bill of lading and snap a few photos. Then call us at 1-800-OUTBOARD — with a noted delivery receipt we can file the freight claim and get you taken care of immediately.
Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Canada?
Our free freight covers the lower 48. We can quote shipping to AK, HI and Canada — contact us for a rate.
Can I pick it up myself?
Yes. Many customers choose terminal pickup to save time. We'll send it to the nearest freight terminal to you.
Is the prop included?
Props are sold separately on most motors so you can match pitch to your hull. We're happy to recommend one.
